Until then, this new technology really requires more careful attention from owners, not less. Look at inside. The most important thing is that the car is well maintainedand in a good condition. Some people don't treat their car good. A good carshould have a very clean inside. There is no holes in the seats. Check if allthe buttons works well. Drive the car. If possible, drive the car on highway. Listen the sounds ofwind and the engine. Listen if there is some uncommon sounds. Do you feel thecar very comfortable, smooth, stable? Make a sharp turn. Listen if there is someproblem with the C/V joint. Take your hands off the steering on a flat road. Isthe call pulling to one side? Push the brake to see if the car is pulling oneside when you push the brake. Set up a claim number and then called the area dealers for PAX costs, best was $192 for the tire plus $75 each tire for labor (!). FYI another dealer 15 miles away was charging $300/tire plus $100 each for labor and my local honda dealer did not have the PAX machine even though the Michelin database said they did. Continental seems to get less less complaints and they are less expensive than the OEM Bridgestone EL42-RFT. I asked the local Town Fair Tire store and they told me that they could get the Conti overnight and costs about $200. Tirerack.com carries it for about $150 + shipping/mounting/balance. Getting 20K miles out of the Bridgestone is not so bad as it has a relatively low rating on wear compared to others. There has been some talk about the Bridgestone having a new modified version, but it's unclear if that's actually true. |
