The exploded diagrams I can find don't actually explode the distributor, so I can't see one and attempting to disassemble it was futile for the time I had. Note that I specifically asked about the tire life when I bought the van and the dealer stated it was 35K miles. So today I had the dealer I went to contact the Michelin rep to start the claim, they agreed to pay 70% of the tire cost for the two tires that were out of spec, so it cost me $170+/- to get the two tires replaced after one year, and it looks like I will be doing two more at full price in 6 months unless Michelin comes to their senses. My local tire dealer (non-PAX) said he would put together a tire/rim package for the local Touring owners as he has started seeing quite a few people come in with less than 20k miles and shot tires. He said it reminded him of the Ford Explorer tire fiasco a few years ago. Start the engine. Pay attention to the sound when the car start. Good enginesounds not heavy. Push the gas, listen the sounds. Good engine should be verysmooth and stable. Watch if the muffler smoking. Close all trunks. Get in thecar. Check if the A/C is cold. Is there some special noise when you turn on theA/C? If something is power, check all of them. Don't forget the radio. Sometimes you will get it by leaving. If you didn't get it by doing so, don'tbe disappointed. Then go to the second dealer. Using the same process but don'tleave so early this time. If you can not get the car, then go up another $ 500. I ordered a nice set of 16 x 7 Rims with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)to go with a set of 235/60HR16 Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus tires.....these tires are FANTASTIC. They grip a wet road like no other and are standard on BMW 5-series cars. Their load rating is a 98H which exceeds the axle requirements for the Ody, so you are legal. I got 5 tires/rims because we Touring folks have no spare and I wanted a full size. Supercharger kits are available for the Camry (Solara) V6 via Toyota's TRD division. If you can find a junked Solara from that year, you can do the engine/tranny/ECM swap then bolt on the blower. You even get a warranty on it. But granted, it puts out a tepid 4 psi boost. Any engine you want to withstand the boost you're looking for will need serious upgrading. Start to look for the car two month before you really need the car. The mostimportant thing to buy a used car is to buy a car in good condition. The secondimportant thing is to save money. If you want to buy a car in one week, youhighly risk your money. I can buy a car in 2 minutes but I don't think you cando like that. You will get reward by your patient. Then if you can not get it, you can leave. If you can not get the car bytwice, then go the third dealer. Then go up until the price your friends paid.You will get the car. Now that your friends can get it by the price, why can'tyou? |
