Rotate your tires every other oil change and you wont have the shoulder wear on the front tires and the cupping on the rear tires. Vacuum in hard to reach places if you get yourself a length of hose pipe. Your hose pipe is probably long enough that you can spare 20", all you need to do is place one end of the hose between thumb and fore-finger and cup your hand over the nozzle of the vacuum cleaner. This narrow extension not only enables you to get into those hard to reach areas down the side of the centre console, but it actually has more suck. Use baby wipes on car dashboards, they clean like new and leave an anti-static layer. The best product I've found to remove water spots and make your black car/suv shine is Eagle One Wet..Wipe and Shine...this product is awesome to remove spots on paint and also your exterior windows. A few other items: Since I didn't bring proof of tire rotation and my tires were on the high side on pressure (which was done by a honda dealer BTW as the TPMS kept saying the pressure was low) Michelin resisted paying anything until I told the dealer I was going to keep the old tires for the lawsuit that was filed in LA in March, then within literally 10 seconds the Michelin rep agreed to pay 70% as a 'goodwill' gesture. Also I have had two Michelins with material defects on my Pilot. Expect to lose a day if you go thru this tire claim process, it took us 6 hours today. Look at inside. The most important thing is that the car is well maintainedand in a good condition. Some people don't treat their car good. A good carshould have a very clean inside. There is no holes in the seats. Check if allthe buttons works well. The marketing pitch of these new technologies lead us to think that we would have less to worry: TPMS tells us when there is a problem, and we can keep driving 50 miles when the warning comes on. The truth is just the opposite: the new technology actually requires us to pay more careful attention to the tires than we're used to. A nail puncture in RFT can be repaired in principle, but apparently most service stations would not want to earn that $20 to risk being blamed for bigger problems later. Start to look for the car two month before you really need the car. The mostimportant thing to buy a used car is to buy a car in good condition. The secondimportant thing is to save money. If you want to buy a car in one week, youhighly risk your money. I can buy a car in 2 minutes but I don't think you cando like that. You will get reward by your patient. Try to contact the us marshals office to find which auction they send the drug cars to, or contact your local banks and credit unions to see if they have repossessions up for bids, if they do don't be afraid of insulting anyone by low biding even if they have a start price. if you can prepare for purchasing a car a few months before you need to buy that's the best way to get your best deal. Look at the back trunk. Open the back trunk, then you can see if the backpanel was damaged. Look at the cloth of back trunk. A well maintained car shouldhave a clean cloth and spear tire in back trunk. If the cloth is very dirty oryou can take off the cloth, the car was hit on back for the probability of 80%. I spray WD-40 on my wheels before I go to the car wash,then when you get to the car wash, all you have to do is pressure wash the brake dust off...works great. The o-ring looks to prevent oil from coming out of the distributor hole and leaking down the side of the engine. It doesn't look to be able to prevent oil from traveling along the distributor shaft, past the bearing, and into the dist body...I guess time will tell. |
